A field of rapeseed used to make canola oil was between our B & B in Giverny and the Epte River which ran through Monet's property too.  The most memorable moment of plein air painting!  An ostrich who was fenced on the farm behind me had been watching me paint the whole time.  All of a sudden, he rolled his head around over and over, flapped his wings, and stamped his feet.  Believe me, I got out of there pretty quickly!  Glad the painting was done!
